Happy New Year!

Is it me or does time fly when you get older?

I remember when I was still in elementary school, a year would take forever! Now, in a blink of an eye, we're old. My nephew is turning 6 in a few months. SIX! I'm guessing the triplets are around the same age now, am I right Diana?

Funny thing happened today. I picked Linda S up, and she said it was the first time she's ever been in my car. I've had the car since 2003! It's been almost 5 years, and it was the first time she's been in the car. I'm pretty sure there has to have been another time.

So, New Year's resolutions. I remember I made a couple last year:

"So what are my goals for 2007?..
-Get promoted
-Finish my classes
-Visit someplace new"

So, I did get promoted. I never finished my classes. I went to Northern Japan. So I guess I got 2 out of 3. That's pretty good.

I'm not gonna recap the year here. I'll recap on my blog. But what is everyone's goal for 2008?

My goals are:

1. Get a new job
2. Visit a new country
3. Save $
4. Gain 5lbs (this is a maybe)
5. Get a gf (this is a maybe too haha)

Happy new years!

Tightie... grey-ies?

You should have seen Peter struggle with this.

hello my bungeps! As i'm sitting here on the beach in hawaii, i'm thinking of you guys. Lets all take a trip somewhere, it'll be fun. Lets go to thailand or somewhere. On a side note, its really hard to get a tan. I've been sitting out in the sun for the part few days, and i don't think i've gotten a shade darker. Boo. I'll be back next week, so you can see for yourselves. And, happy early birthday linda

Happy Birthday Raymond!

So you're the next person to sucumb to the Quarter of a Century mark. Happy Birthday all the same Ray. Even though you're now in town and enjoying a nice little getaway cruise, we're still celebrating your birthday on your behalf. Yesterday's party at Peter's house was like an Exchange. Haha! There was so many people from all walks of life, then there were people that I would only normally see if I go to SD, like Jason Fong, Jason Liang, Le, Jen, Diana Chi, and the list goes on..... it was fun, till 6 Police Cars pulled up and surrounded the house, but they couldn't get us for anything since we didn't have loud music, except for loud people, but we were a corner house so not like we were distacting I couldn't even hear us outside the house.

Anyhow.... Happy Birthday Raymond once again, and thanks for all the crazy times, with more to come, and please, never ever again leave a message to anyone else, I don't care who it is, like the long ass one that you left for the Lama, otherwise I'm going to have to request a restraining order for telephone threats. All the best!

THANK YOU GUYS!

I know after we graduate we are all packed with a never ending TO DO LIST but despite all of that, you guys always take time out of your busy lives to keep the LAMA happy. I love you guys for that.
There are friends who you went to school with, had band camp, asian club, swim team, Chinese shool, work, party, blog, email, have long phone convos with and there are friends that are with you through everything no matter what... thanks for being the latter. I mean I could think about any of the times we've hung out and find something that I'm grateful for and something that could make me laugh like I'm psycho.
Gosh I can't even emphasize how hard it is to leave everytime and really... I tears me a part literally. I've never been good with goodbyes and even worse with changes but like Diana always says "what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" and I hope it's true.
MY parents have tried so hard to make Taiwan everything that the States is but really.. no matter how similar they make it or how convenient things could be there... it's really not the same without you guys. You can't find a Bungep squad in asia? Even if you did... it still woudln't be the same.
I wish I could pick up my cellphone and text you guys something ridiculous that I just witnessed or something stupid that might make you laugh... or something that reminded me of you.
Even if we barely get to see each other... knowing that you guys are around the corner is comforting enough. It's okay.. I'll stop being an EMO lama now and put on my thinking cap so I can finish off the year with good sales and get some bonuses and make my family proud.
On a happier note... I can learn those exercises that the senior citizens do at the park so next time we play that drinking game I can bust out some crazy moves so you guys can DRINK! Hehe.
LOVE YOU and MISS YOU GUYS MUCH.

Ding Da! If I see a hello kitty sticker on the DS I'm going to kung fu grip your ni nis! Hehe. Thanks for the phone call... I still have your hello kitty thing. I guess I'll give it to you in December. I still have yet to ride in your BUG. You should put black dots on it and make it a Lady. Get it? Lady Bug! Ok that was gay... Gimme GG points.

Nanna. I won't forget that you were on "their" side at Ten Ren's. Jk. Dood. SEriously you are right. Everytime you do something embarassing someone pops out. This time it wasn't an N*gg* but a skinny viet. LOL. Aww. Don't forget to give Amelia Bedelia to Alina and not keep them for yourself. Actually it would be nice if you did. That way I could borrow them and read them to you guys before bed. :D

Twins! "You've changed! You're a cheat!" JK. I really didn't mean that. Thanks you for the text and laughing at all my jokes. Everytime I crack one and I feel like it's silent I look over and you're doing the silent laugh. Hehe. My little LILO. Diana and I were discussing who would be BABY spice if we were spice girls and I'd have to say you because you're my baby ;) oh yea... (booby squeeze). Hehe. I think the DS situation confused all of us at one point. I thought I would be "all knowing" but the whole misplacing it thing really got me. Don't let your mom borrow it. You wont' get it back! Jk.

Lao Puo! Thanks for being there no matter what and always reminding me to push myself. I must do the same for you. You're by my side.. not in front of me or behind me but right beside me breathing down my neck while I'm trying to play SUDOKU. Thanks... now Chris' family probably thinks I'm abusive since I smacked you three times in front of them. HEHE. I mean you deserved it: flicking water when I'm washing dishes, going into my bubble while I'm trying to play DS, hitting me on the couch? I really wnated to just tell you to SHUT UP and SING! ;)

Gerbil! Don't even worry that you didn't get to see me. I was only in town for like 2 days. There will be next time. I should've recorded your drunk phone call and made it my voicemail message. LOL. If you came to Chris' house I would've locked you in the garage with Chris' dog since I know how much you'll enjoy that. HAHA. JK. Tell Mr. and Mrs. Jeckleberg to keep up with the housework.

LO MO! I forgot to punch you for that long voicemail. WTF? How did you do that? Just when I was sad to leave you had to say that you're going to HAWAII for TWO WEEKS! Jeez. Now I won't miss you. JK. Thanks for always bringing the WRONG GAME. Hahaha. Actually...t hanks for holding out on us with the DS. I didn't even know you had one. tsk tsk. You better come back with braids and beads in your head.

Ok. Take care my bunGEPS. See you in December!
76 more days.

Feeling old

I think I'm at a point where I'm starting to feel old. Not because I'm turning 25, but more the fact of my surroundings. Ever notice what your conversation topics have become. First it's usually bitching about work. Second, usually is news about who's married, who has kids, etc. Life revolves around fewer and fewer things as you get older. I don't know if thats a good thing or not. I actually enjoyed juggling school, work, friends, pco stuff, dsp stuff, sleep. I guess with more and more people getting married, or even settling down, it's hard to feel like there's so much time to try to accomplish everything that you want to. I mean, age wise, we're still young, but looking at the outlook of the next 25 years, for me, I see repetitiveness. I guess when you're young, you have things to look forward to, ie driving, being able to go buy the lotto, being able to drink and gamble in vegas. Now, it's "oh shit, i'm going to be 30 soon". Not the greatest feeling in the world. haha. Ok, enough rambling from me.

Posted on Xanga

I posted a Xanga because I didn't want to overwhelm the BunGep Blog with too many pictures and duplicated sappy stuff.....

Hope you boys have been doing good, how was your guys' weekend?

Girls, I miss you, but then again, what's new right? Haha!

The Big 3 - 0

So some of us are reaching our quarter life mark... what do you hope to accomplish my the time you reach 30? Do you think you'll be married, with kids? Where will you be career-wise? Will you still be living at home?

Think about it... it'll be fun to look back 5 years from now and see if we were correct or not.

We're 25 Mins Away From Peter's Birthday!

Still a few minutes away but better early than later.... Happy Birthday Peter! All the best to celebrating the marking of a quarter of a century of your life. Age comes with experiences, so it's not so much a bad thing, just that we ain't getting any younger.

As for each of the other BunGeps, I know there are plenty but name one moment that really sticks out when you think back on your times with Peter. For myself, I remember going to SF for the singing competition that I joined, when Peter stepped into dog shit, and got on the bus with people having looks on their face like "who the heck farted?" then Chris and I go into a diner and what does Peter do? Take his tennis shoes and washes it in the bathroom sink, talk about cleanliness environment in a restaurant huh?

Have a great one Peter!

nightmare

last night i had the worst nightmare.
I dreamt that I got a new place and you guys came to visit. After we all got situated to go to sleep I went and slept alone in my room. Right when I was getting ready to fall asleep there was a huge earthquake. The whole building started shaking furiously. I tried to get up but it was shaking too hard. I wanted to head for the door but I couldn't move. Then the building started tipping over and crashing down and I woke up before I got hit and crushed.

cake

I've been craving cake and sweet stuff. This is bad.
What has everyone been up to?
Lately I've been slacking and now I'm trying to catch up since it's the end of the month.
I'm cutting it real close I hope I make it. HAHA.
AFter work I've been having dinner with family friends or people who are back from the states for summer. (eating too much) And of course we get boba after or something which is even worse.
Then I go home and clean. Note to friends: Don't use a mop.
After that I shower and crawl into bed and watch cartoons. I'm a bad girl. Cartoon = not reading.
Sorry Harry Potter I will read you soon.
Another note: Don't wash towels in a Taiwan washing machine and then wash other things after because the lint will end up everywhere. Tonight I have to go home and pick it all off. *sigh* Not good.
I saw a cute puppy and now I really want it.
I think I would be a lot happier if I had a dog. It could watch cartoons with me.
We went fish scooping and we caught a bunch of fish but there's only one survivor. I get paranoid that it's going to die and that I'm going to have to dump it into the toilet and hear that splat when it hits the water and then I'll feel like I killed it and that would be bad. Beddy beddy bad.
I'm going to also post this on my xanga as a protected post since I don't think people read this as often.

Life.....

Life is not fair. Why do bad things happen to good people? I've never been a religious guy, but I've always believed in a higher being (whether it be buddha, god, etc, etc). Yet, situations like these make me question the validity of my belief, yet it is the time when I need to have faith and trust. Another of life's catch-22s. The situation could be much worse, but yet it would have been better if it didn't happen at all.

Is life fated? Do things happen for a purpose? Is this life's way of teaching everyone one of it's lessons? I always believed that everything happens for a purpose. Yet, I hate to believe that bad things happen for a purpose.

Sorry if I'm rambling. Life is just too confusing at times.

Live life with no regrets.

Dumb guy at work... Part 2

So I said I'd update when the guy got fired. Too bad he didn't get fired. He quit. It's all for the better. I think he finally knew that he was not a good fit for that job.

Tuesday, July 10, 2007

Congrats

I just wanted to say CONGRATS S on getting the job!!! You definitely deserve it! When's your last day at the other place??

Monday, July 9, 2007

Just one choice....

One decision you make can really affect you and others in such large ways...

I was thinking, what if I never went to UCSD. I wasn't even suppose to go to SD. I had already accepted going to Irvine. So if I never went to SD, then, technically, I wouldn't be friends with most of you. I would have most likely never have been affiliated. I wonder who amongst our group would still be friends, not to say that I was/am a big influence on that part, but I can't help but wonder.

It's like the episode of friends "The one that could have been", season 6 episode 15 and 16. If we all just changed one decision that we made, how would everything turn out.

So why am I thinking this? I was talking with a friend, and it turns out, if I didn't go to UCSD, she wouldn't be getting married. Well, anyways, I'm glad it turned out this way though. =)

Next 40 years.....

So, here is what a day consists of:

Wake up
Eat Breakfast
Drive to work
Work
Drive home
Eat Dinner
Shower
Sleep

Seriously? Life for me consists of work. I don't even have time to hang out with anyone. I feel very disconnected from the world, except for everyone at work. I mean, I see you guys about once or twice a month, sometimes a little more. Every day I get home from work, all I want to do is sit. On the weekends, all I want to do is sleep. I feel so frustrated. I feel very spontaneous too. I feel like just driving to vegas for a weekend, or flying to Florida, or something. My life right now is very claustrophobic. Maybe I should just find a new job, or start my own company. I don't think I can ever get use to this schedule where I only have free time on the weekend. Also, I hate having to look at my watch, seeing it's 11pm, and thinking, damn it's my bed time. What ever happened to the good old days where we ventured out at 1am, sleeping only 4 hours. What I'm trying to say is... work sucks!

a slow driver ( i mean SLOW) or someone who speeds?
someone who only buys cheap things or someone who only buys expensive things?
someone who only stays at home or someone who can't stay at home?
someone you can't take seriously or someone who is only serious?
a small dog or a big cat?
lions or tigers?
cheetahs or leopards?
alligators or crocodiles?
gerbil or hamster?
a girly guy or a manly girl?
books or movies?
simpsons or family guy?
nordstroms, macys, or bloomingdales?
sharper image or brookstone?
bath and body works or body shop?
san francisco or NYC?
black or white?
summer, winter, fall, or spring?

ok that's enough for now

Dumb guy at work

I think the title explains it all. This guy is soo unbelievably dumb. Who is the dumbest person you can think of? I'm pretty sure this guy is dumber. Its so sad. At work, almost everyone in the department wants him gone. Actually, we all IM each other talking about when he's going to get the ax. It's pretty amusing. And get this, he has an MBA. I may have bitched about it in an earlier post, but he's sooo dumb that I had to post it again. My next post will be about the day he gets fired. (i'm mean, i can't help it)

Iphone

Would you buy an Iphone?

At $599, I refuse to pay that much for a phone. I don't think I've ever paid more than $200. Mainly because that $200 was used to pay a contract termination fee cause I lost my phone. Why would people wait a day an a half in line just to pay their entire paycheck for a phone that may be buggy.

I would get an Iphone IF it were cheaper. I think I'd pay half the price for it, if not less. Also, I'd wait for version 2 to come out, so that all the bugs are fixed.

That's all my ranting for now.

Older siblings have higher IQs?

According to this story, the oldest is the smartest... hmm. I beg to differ.

Study: Older Siblings Have Higher IQs

Andrea Thompson
LiveScience Staff Writer
LiveScience.com
Thu Jun 21, 2:05 PM ET

Being the oldest child in the family has its perks: later bedtimes, no hand-me-downs, and, according to a new study, a higher IQ.

The study, detailed in the June 22 issue of the journal Science, analyzed the IQs of nearly 250,000 Norwegian 18- and 19-year-old draftees and found that older siblings had higher scores than younger siblings.

Another study, by the same authors of the new Science study but published recently in the journal Intelligence, looked at more than 100,000 Norwegian brothers and found that first-borns on average had an IQ 2.3 points higher than their younger brothers (the IQs were all taken when the brothers were 18 or 19, so they compare the older brother’s score at that age to the younger brother’s score when he reached that same age).

“These are probably the two most important studies on birth order and intelligence in the last 75 years,” said psychologist Frank Sulloway of the University of California, Berkeley, who wrote an analysis of the latest study for Science.

Social order

Unlike earlier studies that compared the intelligence of first-born children to those born later (and that also found that first-borns have higher IQs), the Science study looked at the social order of the children in a family, which does not always correspond to actual birth order in cases where there is a death in the family.

By comparing children who lost an older sibling, for instance, and so were treated as the eldest child, to those who were actually the first-born of their family, the authors showed that the former group had similar IQs to the latter group.

“The second-borns who lost an older sibling are becoming like a first-born” in terms of IQ, Sulloway said.

Sulloway says the new research rules out criticisms of earlier studies that argue that the findings were an artifact of other factors in the data, such as family size and parental IQ.

Reversing trend

Psychologists have a few theories to explain the new results. One proposes that older siblings “tutor” their younger brothers and sisters, which reinforces their own learning, though direct evidence for this particular theory is lacking.

Paradoxically, younger siblings start out in life with higher IQs: Because younger children haven’t yet mastered the skills their older siblings have (for example, language or math skills), they actually degrade the learning environment of their elder brother or sister.

“Every time you add a child, you’re diluting the intellectual environment of everyone in the family,” Sulloway said.

But eventually, around the age of 12, this trend reverses and the older siblings overtake their younger siblings.

Sulloway points out that though older siblings may win out in IQ, the time they devote to studying is time spent elsewhere by their younger siblings, who may excel in other areas such as the arts or sports.

Cupcakes and Dinner Monday 6/24/07

Are you guys free on MONDAY June 25th?
I get back from the cruise that day and was wondering since I have time between getting back and getting on the plane if you want to hang out.
I know most of you have work until 5pm ish or later but want to have dinner?
I was thinking if there's no time for dinner maybe we can all go to Sprinkles or Pinkberry and chill. :D
If you want to have dinner are there any suggestions?
I was thinking...
since sprinkles closes at 7pm those who aren't busy can go get the cupcakes first and then we can have dinner. Or we can just all go have cupcakes.
My flight is at 8:50pm and I'm not checking in luggage so I'm going to try to get the online boarding pass and just get there at 8:10pm to board.
Let me know what you think. ;)

Frustrated

I'm so frustrated with work. I talked to the boss today again about my review that's been pending for the past month and a half. He just kinda shrugged it off again. Basically, he said, "I'm going to talk to HR within the next few weeks." How vague is that?

Also, so right now, I have 2 people reporting to me. The assistant editor just left, and there's no one writing content. So I heard from a source that the boss is going to make one of the 2 into the "community manager". What the fuck is that? He's been there for only 2 months, and all of a sudden he gets a better title than I do? Not that he's not a good employee, its just way the boss is approaching this is whack!

I think you'd be as frustrated as I am, would you?

AUTOMATED SYSTEMS

So I've been trying to call EXPERIAN since I can't access my reports and they keep charging me $4.95 every month. But I can't log in with my user name and password. They put you on hold until you forget that you have a LIFE AND ANOTHER STUFF TO DO rather than just sit there like a zombie forEVER. GRRR. AT&T did this when I had problems with my bill. Wellsfargo did this when my card was stolen. It's like they DO IT ON PURPOSE so that you just give up. Now I want to shoot them. Anyone care to join?
One more day until you can see my bumps!

SICK

I hate being sick! I've been sick for the last week now. It all started off with a small sore throat. I had that last Saturday. Then on Sunday, it got a little worse, but not horribly worse. Not the ones I got back at UCSD. Then on Monday, I had a slight runny nose. Not the always running runny nose, just the kind where I use a tissue every hour or so. Then Tuesday, I had a full blown stuffy nose, only in my left nostril. Wednesday, I had a major headache and slight cough, all with the stuffy nose and sore throat. Thursday was the worst when I felt like shit, nothing 2 advil couldn't fix. Today, still feel like shit, but not as bad. But then, I got home, was playing the wii with my nephew, and I got all itchy everywhere. I ended the game quickly, and went to my room. I somehow got hives. It was itchy as hell!! It was like that one episode of Friends where Phoebe gets the chicken pox, and can't stop scratching. Well, that was me. I couldn't stop scratching. It felt so good to scratch. Anyways, and hour and a half later, the hives seem to be going away. Not fully gone yet, but not as apparent. Damn me and my weak immune system.

Braces Consultation

I had my braces consultation today... I think the doctor took a step back in fear when examining my teeth

The results are:

2.5 years
$3400 without counting insurance

2 teeth to be removed from the top
Maybe 1 tooth from the bottom

And I will still have a slight overbite, unless I go into oral surgery. I think I can live with the slight overbite hahaha.

CHARACTER??

Just in case you guys missed my comment to Dolly's:

"What character would you be??"

I barely had time to really catch up, read blogs, xanga, and go on myspace for some real commenting. Life has been busy and full of little things to do here and there. I would like to sleep more, eat less (portion control), and be more active in sports & activities. I'm looking for a tennis buddy, running buddy, yoga buddy, and an eating buddy (portion control & health food nut). If only we all lived on the same street or within a closer vicinity. Dancing has been my main type of exercise these days..but the alcohol consumption really diminishes the whole purpose.. so that's that. Um.. Sorry-- birdwalk again. I think my ADD has become more serious to the point where it is of concern now. Hmm. oh well.

So what did I actually comment??

I WANT TO BE A BOOGER .. so you'd PICK MEE!!! muhahaha. And that's how serious I thought about it. Maybe if I'll think of something clever and amusing in my sleep tonight. I'M GOING TO BED EARLIER I HOPE!

Goodnight, and hope y'all are doing well. I plan to post about my life's drama and stories some time if you want to hear about it. Life has been interesting. Hope yours has been great or better than mine. I think it's starting to plateau again.. whew.

<3 to all my bungeps!

one more thing

On the topic of vacation we better all go somewhere together sometime. HAHA. Let's brainstorm some ideas like within our budget so we can go soon.
Time: 2008?
Place: Florida, New York, Hawaii?
If we are all ballin': Mediterranean?

Ok that is a bad rough draft but please... INPUT!

STINKY FEET

Yesterday I went to do Yoga and we did this position where you're laying down on your belly and the girl in front of me had the STINKIEST feet in the world. The deceiving part is her face looked all pretty and delicate. Tsk tsk. STINKY. Then I looked and there was a patch of yellow wrinkly and cracking skin on the ball of her foot. HELP!

YAY!!! 3 more days left and then I'm off to see the wizard!

You poo poo heads better tell me what you're brining to Wicked.

Miss you guys much!

A Drunken Night

Hello my Bun Geps,

The pain in my head is throbbing this morning. 1 bottle of Grey Goose, and 1 bottle of Soju between two people. I think this morning I nearly threw up my whole insides. I ended up on the floor and I had a towel on my head. It's my friend's birthday the week after I leave so I guess we drank up for then.

Good thing her friends were over to watch us, otherwise our calls would've been out of control. At one point they said I claimed I miss my Geps and friends, they gave me their phones, so I called I think two or three of you. I do apologize for my drunk dailing, and I do miss you guys.

Now I think I'm just going to rest my liver, till further notice. This is the only time I woke up so crazily since Rho Formals last year and we all know what happened then. Thank goodness for leggings.

What to do with life.....

I'm stuck in a situation where I hate my job; yet, I don't hate it enough to just get up and quit. I'm also at a point where I refuse to make anything less than what I currently make, and refuse to have a title lower. This makes looking for a new job even harder. Agencies want certain aspects that you are doing, but they want you to be doing it for 3 - 5 years. The 1 - 2 year positions are positions that are currently lower than the position I'm currently holding. What a catch 22.

So at work, it is not unbearable, but not idealistic. The more thought put into the matter, the more realization of what priorities stand on the ladder. There's always the saying, "It could be worse", which in this instance is very relative. What other place can let me casually stroll in at 10ish 1030 and leave at 6.

So what is the provocation of all this. A coworker of mine who started a month and a half after I did received his 6-month review today. I've been promised a review since last month, yet to no avail. I am not saying that his review is undeserved. It is very much so deserved. He works hard, and I'm happy for his achievement; yet, looking at where I stand, I hate be given these empty promises.

Sticking it out for now, but hopefully something good will start coming my way. I'll keep you guys posted.

Bungep News?

Since I only read a few xangas anyways, I thought we could all consolidate our postings onto 1 blog. Will try to add all the Bungeps by the end of the week. You don't have to do it if you don't want, just a thought. =)
